About Myth & Mint

Myth & Mint is an independent, fan-run publication about Magic: The Gathering. It exists for two kinds of reader: the player trying to build a real deck without spending real money, and the collector who wants to know what a card is, why it matters, and how to keep it in the shape it arrived in.

What we cover

The site publishes three kinds of writing, and nothing else:

• Curated recommendations - researched, fully priced deck lists and product picks. The first series is six budget Commander decks built around The Hobbit cards, from under $25 to under $250, each one a complete legal 100-card list with a per-card ledger.
• Collecting & grading - storage, handling, condition, and grading basics.
• Set & card guides - plain-language breakdowns of sets, formats, and the cards that define them.

Budget Commander is the current center of gravity because it is where the two audiences meet. A $25 deck is a shopping list, a rules problem, and a card-condition question at the same time, and getting it right takes actual research rather than a copied decklist.

How the research works

Priced articles are built from primary sources: Wizards of the Coast for format rules and the Commander banned list, Scryfall for card data and dated USD prices, and merchant catalog pages for the products themselves. Every 100-card list is checked for card count, singleton rules, color identity, and Commander legality before it is published, and every price carries the date it was captured.

Deck analysis is theory based unless an article says otherwise. Myth & Mint does not claim playtesting it has not done, and it does not publish win rates it cannot support. Independence

Myth & Mint does not sell cards and does not operate a storefront. Product links point to independent merchants, and no merchant, publisher, or sponsor has any say over what gets covered or what a guide concludes.

There is currently no active affiliate program, sponsorship, or advertising relationship. Merchant links are untagged catalog references and the operator covers the site's costs. If that changes, the change gets stated on the affiliate disclosure page rather than quietly absorbed, and the standing notice in the site footer links there from every page.

Every guide is free to read. There is no paywall, no membership tier, and no sponsored placement.

Who publishes this

Myth & Mint is written and operated by Bryan, its site operator, and is published by Brybrydataguy LLC. It is a fan project rather than a company blog: one person doing the research, writing the guides, and answering the email.

Because the writing is not a rotating masthead, articles carry no byline. Corrections and questions all reach the same place, and they are answered by the person who wrote the page.

Fan status and independence from Wizards of the Coast

Myth & Mint is unofficial fan content. It is not run by, approved by, or connected to Wizards of the Coast, and it speaks only for itself. The required fan-content notice appears in the footer of every page, and the Terms of Use describe the fan-content relationship and the intellectual property involved.

How the site is built

Myth & Mint is a static website. There are no accounts, comments, newsletter signups, or web forms, and the site keeps no reader database. What is processed when you visit, and by which providers, is set out in the Privacy Policy.
